01 / Founder & maker

Jonathan Harrington.

Jonathan designs every Knucklehead Labs knife around one discipline: every curve, proportion, and structural feature must have a functional reason.

His path began with knives in childhood, continued through military service and advanced tactical training, and moved from collecting into making when he could not find the knife he wanted. Today he approaches steel like sculpture—balancing a strong visual form with purpose in the hand.

02 / Jonathan Harrington’s philosophy

Every curve earns its place.

Jonathan approaches knife making as sculpture in steel. The proportions should please the eye, but every sweep, angle, belly, and curve must also have a functional reason.

Study the knife. Hold it. Use it. The decisions hidden inside the design begin to reveal themselves.

After medical retirement from the Navy, making knives gave Jonathan an anchor. It became a place for creativity, discipline, faith, and connection. Knucklehead Labs grew from that foundation: purposeful objects made through purposeful work.

  1. Sculpt.Shape steel with proportion and intent.
  2. Resolve.Give every line a functional reason.
  3. Anchor.Build with discipline, faith, and purpose.

Crusader

The eight-inch prototype at the center of the line.

Jonathan Harrington first developed the Crusader with Rich Graham in 2005. Now in its fourth major iteration, the design is built around hooking, control, deep draw cuts, torque, leverage, and hard-use performance—not ornament without purpose.

A seven-and-one-eighth-inch study with a compact blade.

The Scalpel is the compact everyday-carry companion to the Crusader, designed for precise field work and general daily use in either a forward or reverse grip. Its updated profile carries the Crusader’s sweeping line, curved architecture, and pronounced belly.

Mini Crusader

A compact three-finger member of the Crusader family.

Jonathan Harrington designed the Mini Crusader as a compact three-finger counterpart to the full-size Crusader. Its form is intended for close control and simple utility work, carrying the Crusader identity into a smaller, easier-to-carry knife.

Multi Tool

Formerly called the Knuckle Head.

Jonathan Harrington’s Multi Tool is a composite grip-assist device that distributes pressure across the fingers when pulling rope, wire, sharp-edged loads, and other difficult materials. Its original Knuckle Head form also became the Knucklehead Labs brand mark.
